Craigton Replacement Extension

A common issue we encounter, is houses which have previously been extended with little thought into the layout, design and connection with the existing house. Sometimes the best solution is to remove the original extension and design a space to maximise the orientation, views and to suit the client requirements.

This replacement extension provides an open plan Kitchen/Dining/Family space, opening out onto a new decked Terrace. Each of the spaces is zoned to ensure each area is designed to suit its purpose and provides a connection with the garden.

The original Kitchen has been repurposed as a Shower Room and Utility, with a new side entrance formed, while the front room has been partitioned off to create a formal Living Room, to the front.

Materials were chosen to contrast with the existing house, with vertical timber cladding, which will be left to weather to a silver colour, complimenting the new dark grey windows and doors.

The design was kept simple, with clean lines and rectangular shape extending across the width of the original house.
