Sometimes you don't need to extend. Removing internal walls and utilising the existing footprint can provide your dream open plan space. This is exactly what was required for this project, with the space opened up to create defined zones for a brand new Kitchen, Dining and Seating areas. Adding in large sliding doors allows access onto a beautiful decked area and floods the internal space with natural daylight

Issues with existing house

• Existing Kitchen had limited space and limited daylight.
• Link between Kitchen and Dining areas was disjointed.
• Large room to rear was rarely utilised.
• Limited access to garden.
• Existing terrace was stepped down from the internal floor level was in need of refurbishment.

Solution

• Remove internal walls to form open plan Kitchen/Dining/Family space.
• Position of Kitchen relocated and modern Kitchen fitted, doubling the size of the existing kitchen.
• Large rooflights added to new Kitchen space to allow natural daylight into internal spaces.
• New membrane roof, replacing existing flat roof covering.
• Insulation added to external walls and existing roof space.
• Large sliding doors opening out to new decked terrace.
• Bar area formed in recess.
